Plague Inc. at Global Pandemic Preparedness Summit 2022

In March, CEPI (The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness) hosted a global summit in London to raise funds for vaccine research and development, as well as to promote their goal of cutting vaccine development by two thirds, to 100 days. Ndemic Creations was invited to the event by CEPI, who wanted to use Plague Inc. to help illustrate the vital importance of vaccines to conference delegates and media.

For the event we created a special version of Plague Inc. called ‘Plague Inc: Ending Pandemics’, highlighting how early and substantial investments in vaccine R&D, disease surveillance, and global manufacturing can blunt the impact of future pandemics.

CEPI's goal of mitigating damage from pandemics is one we've supported for a long time after previously donating $250,000 and working with them on Plague Inc: The Cure. It was an honor to once again work with CEPI and help to spread awareness of their goals.

About CEPI

CEPI is an innovative partnership between public, private, philanthropic, and civil organisations, launched at Davos in 2017, to develop vaccines to stop future epidemics. CEPI has moved with great urgency and in coordination with WHO in response to the emergence of COVID-19. CEPI has initiated nine partnerships to develop vaccines against COVID-19. The programmes are leveraging rapid response platforms already supported by CEPI as well as new partnerships.

Before the emergence of COVID-19, CEPI’s priority diseases included Ebola virus, Lassa virus, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus, Nipah virus, Rift Valley Fever and Chikungunya virus. CEPI also invested in platform technologies that can be used for rapid vaccine and immunoprophylactic development against unknown pathogens (Disease X).
